SOWING INTO AN ANOINTED GROUND

picking-vegetables-in-early-spring-2033587_1920Kings 17:7-24 (Read the whole story)

Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.

11 And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.

This is such a mystery. God decided to provide for his Servant Elijah supernaturally by sending him to a widows house. This woman was preparing to make her last meal for herself and her son and then die.

From a natural perspective it may be difficult to comprehend why God will send a prophet to the house of a widow who was down to her last meal with no provision in sight.

However, we need to remember that the ways of God is higher than our ways, and his so are his thoughts – Isaiah 55:8-9.

Only God could have pulled off such a miraculous transaction. That woman gave God her all by making her a meal for Elijah first before herself.

Her obedience triggered supernatural events in her life. By obeying God and feeding His servant she closed the door to lack in her life and opened the door to supernatural abundance.

#When you sow a seed into the life of an anointed servant of God, it commits God to attend to your needs in a miraculous way – Genesis 12:3

Elijah was a man who knew the ways of God, so he knew that God did not sent him to the widow’s house to take advantage of her situation, but to be a channel of blessings.

When God wants to bless you with a harvest, He will place a demand on you to sow a seed, which can be in material or immaterial form. This is to conform to the spiritual law as recorded in the book of Genesis 8: 22 – “While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

This story teaches us that God can use anyone to be a blessing to us, and we should never look down on people, just because they are not influential or well to do.
